DOMINANCE (and maybe ASYMMETRY)

In this, the larger stapler clearly dominates the photo without pushing the smaller stapler too far into the background. If you notice, the smaller stapler's colors are dulled, and it does not quite mirror the other stapler in its position. The two stapler's face each other but not at direct angles, making that smaller stapler appear even more submissive. These differences in scale but lack of complete symmetry add a touch of ASYMMETRY to this image.


MOVEMENT AND RHYTHM

For this "Stapler Flower" as I've called it, there is more than the simple movement of a spiral. Here there are at 15 staplers of various sizes, spaced and rotated at even degrees. The bright hues of red and yellow contrast against their split-compliments of the Blue-Green of the pavement. Each stapler is progressively small through the flower, there is a weight to each yet they float above the pavement. There is the definite movement of the spiral, and a natural rhythm that they achieve through their progression in size. This shift in scale, the largest stapler in the back, to the smallest stapler in the foreground creates that movement.
